Operomed Business Solutions operates as a Business Associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.

1. Protection of Health Information

We maintain strict administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Protected Health Information (PHI) processed on behalf of our healthcare provider partners.

2. Permitted Uses and Disclosures

PHI accessed in the course of delivering medical billing, medical coding, accounts receivable follow-up, and revenue cycle services is handled strictly in accordance with executed Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) and applicable state and federal laws.

3. Employee Training & Access Control

All billing specialists and coders undergo comprehensive HIPAA compliance certification upon hire and annually thereafter. Workstations operate in secure physical environments with biometric access controls and zero external media capability.
